Tawa

Welcome to your kickstart into this weekend!

Time flies, as they say, like nothing else, even when chickens don't.

The older I get, the faster it seems to go.

Here we are already in the middle of October, and things are going rather splendidly. This week, we enjoyed an incredible Pride in Work Awards evening. Celebrating such amazing people and their achievements was a real battery re-filler, and I feel immensely proud of what our club, under Judith and Pat, has achieved once again.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening such a success, and especially to Benny and Neil, who spent much of the night behind the camera. Once we receive the photos, we'll make them available and share more highlights on social media.

As we move forward, we have two major events coming up over the next week.

Meet the Candidates

Tuesday, 13 October, 6:45 pm

I'd like to encourage all Rotarians, first and foremost, to attend as guests and take the opportunity to hear from the candidates firsthand. I absolutely love this event. It gives our community a chance to engage directly with those seeking to represent us, and I'm proud that Rotary Tawa can play a role in making it happen.

It promises to be an excellent evening, and I hope we see a strong turnout from all across tawa and Kenepuru for this community event.

I am looking for a few volunteers to help on the night:

  • A small setup crew from 5:30 pm (2- 3 people)
    • Mostly moving chairs and tables- you may want to skip Gym that day)
  • 2-3 Rotarians to welcome guests at the door and encourage them to submit questions before the meeting begins.

The good news is that everything else is pretty much organised, so these are the only roles we still need to fill.

I look forward to seeing you on the night if you can.

Spring into Tawa

Saturday 17 October -10.00 am

Spring into Tawa Tawa is around the corner and we're looking for a fantastic day out in the community.

We urgently still need people between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM To maintain our Rotary stall and support our friends from WellFed.

Again, everything else is pretty well organised.

Shortly after we'll be heading into our Scottish themed night on 20th October and I hope you have polished your dancing shoes already.

This is going to be a great fun night. Will also be meeting Sophie, an incredible young woman who we sponsored to attend a IYM week.

So looking forward to another inspiring and great fun night.

With that, I'll leave you to your weekend. I'm going to have to start the Braai and do some DIY projects around the house, but also polished that old chicken costume.

Not sure about something?

As always, please contact me directly if there is anything you need, are unsure about, or are not comfortable with.

I value open and honest communication and would always welcome the opportunity to discuss any questions, concerns, or feedback firsthand. A conversation often helps provide context, clear up misunderstandings, and ensure we're working from the same information.

I'm always happy to listen and work through possible solutions together, so please don't hesitate to speak with me directly if there is anything you are unhappy about, concerned about, or would like clarified. A conversation is often the best way to ensure we have a shared understanding and can address any issues constructively.
