It's been an exceptionally busy few weeks, with plenty happening both professionally and personally. I've been travelling across New Zealand delivering a series of workshops, with another session held tomorrow the new Library at lunchtime.
Today I also help at the safer plates event today at New World Tawa - 10-12, with the Tawa Community Patrol.
Alongside preparing for a number of events with fantastic leads – Judith, Liz, Carolyn, and Michael H, for September and October, supporting 4 busy kids, and somehow trying to maintain a little sanity, I've been reminded of how much I genuinely enjoy what our club is achieving.
The opportunity to work alongside such dedicated people and friends, is both inspiring and energising.
Even when life feels busy, it is often a sign that we are spending our time on things that matter. I'm grateful to be part of a community that continues to make a positive difference, one conversation, one project, and one connection at a time.
I was a little disappointed to miss part of last week's meeting, as I would have loved to hear everyone talk about their favourite books. So, I hope to hear from you on this but I trust you had a great evening, with Michael H and bene looking after the club so very well.
I've sent out the invitation for our next club evening, on 22 October - and I hope you'll consider bringing your partners, family, and friends along. It promises to be a special night, with a number of distinguished guests attending and a fantastic band helping to create a memorable atmosphere.
The evening will celebrate Bavarian culture and heritage, which is particularly meaningful for me. I hope you'll enjoy the experience, and I also hope it becomes one of many opportunities for us to celebrate the diverse cultures, backgrounds, and stories of our members.
If you're having any issues with the Nova/ ClubRunner link, please let either me or Gurtej know. In the meantime, you're welcome to RSVP through the usual club email – tawarotaryclub@gmail.com.
We're also looking for a few people to help with setup on the 22nd. Our goal is to have everything prepared before members and guest arrive so everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. Any assistance with setting up, and helping before the event starts would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all for your ongoing support and for being part of our club. I look forward to seeing many of you at Oktoberfest for what promises to be a wonderful evening of friendship, fun, and celebration.
As always, please don't hesitate to reach out if there is anything I, or the leadership team, can do to help.
Take care, get some well-deserved rest, and have a fabulous weekend. The weather certainly seems inviting, so I hope you find an opportunity to get outside, recharge, and enjoy it.
Until next time, thank you for all that you do to make our club such a welcoming, vibrant, and enjoyable place to be. Cheers! 🍻
